The first step in every good story—whether it’s for print, radio, television, or multimedia—is a good interview; not only does it deepen your article, it should also establish trust with your sources. This hands-on class will cover some basic interviewing principles and some useful tips for tricky situations. Instructor: Andrea Lewis is a San Francisco-based journalist whose essays have appeared in USA Today, the San Francisco Examiner, The Baltimore Sun, Mother Jones, The Progressive, and many other publications. Andrea has worked in the editorial departments of Mother Jones, HarperCollins Publishers, Pacific News Service, and Third Force magazine. She has also been a contributing writer for Snap.com and Gay.com. Andrea is currently co-host/producer of The Morning Show on KPFA Radio (94.1 FM) in Berkeley. |
